EPPS Committee has approved a report calling for a review of Ottawa’s construction oversight framework, including potential new tools to address demolition impacts, property damage, and enforcement concerns related to urban infill development. The goal is to better protect residents while supporting responsible growth.
Council approves projects to enhance the downtown and ByWard Market experience
City Council has approved new investments to improve safety, public spaces, and community supports in downtown Ottawa and the ByWard Market. Funded through the reallocation of existing provincial funding, the initiatives include infrastructure upgrades, mental health and homelessness services, public health programs, and measures to help create a safer, more vibrant downtown.

FINALLY, Vanier is getting a new recreation centre. This is the most significant city investment for new infrastructure in Vanier since amalgamation.
After four years of advocacy, today we officially signed an agreement to move forward on a new recreation center as part of the community hub at 250 Montréal Road with the CSC Vanier, the City of Ottawa and Regional Group.
