While in the ByWard Market, I picked up a Canadian flag shirt to show my support for this Wednesday's Canada-Switzerland watch party! 🇨🇦🇨🇭
A big thank you to Sue and Hadi, who have been selling Canadian-themed merchandise in the Market for many years. Everything is ...designed locally, and the photos really don't do their products justice. Their stand is located across from the Keg on York Street, and they also offer custom apparel. I've included their contact information below if you'd like to check them out!
Our Canada-Switzerland watch party takes place on June 24 at 3:00 p.m. at the Vanier HUB (267 Marier Avenue). Thanks to our friends at the Embassy of Switzerland in Canada / Ambassade de Suisse au Canada, ACFO Ottawa, ZAC Vanier BIA and Centre des services communautaires Vanier / Vanier Community Service Centre, there will be a few surprises along the way!

De passage au marché By, je me suis procuré un chandail à l'effigie du drapeau canadien pour afficher mes couleurs en vue de notre fête de visionnement Canada-Suisse de mercredi!
Un grand merci à Sue et Hadi, qui vendent depuis de nombreuses années des vêtements et articles inspirés du Canada au cœur du marché. Tous leurs produits sont conçus localement et honnêtement, les photos ne leur rendent pas justice. Leur kiosque est situé en face du Keg sur la rue York et ils offrent également des vêtements personnalisés. J'ai inclus leurs coordonnées si vous souhaitez les encourager.
Joignez-vous à nous le 24 juin à 15 h au Vanier HUB (267, avenue Marier) pour regarder le match Canada-Suisse sur grand écran. Grâce à nos partenaires de l'Ambassade de Suisse, @acfo, @zacvanier et @cscv, quelques surprises vous attendent!

I have been getting a lot of questions about the Salvation Army’s proposed shelter project on Montréal Road, and they recently confirmed to CBC that the project will not be proceeding “as originally conceived.”
As many of you know, I have been very clear, both at City Council and in... the media, that Ottawa cannot shelter its way out of homelessness. My position has always been that we need more housing, more stability, and better outcomes for both clients and the surrounding community. I am hopeful that this next chapter creates an opportunity to move in that direction.
I have requested a meeting with the Salvation Army alongside @monafortier and @lucillecollard , and I will keep the community updated as those discussions move forward. I will continue advocating for solutions on Montréal Road that strengthen the neighbourhood and prioritize permanent housing.

Comme plusieurs le savent, j’ai toujours été très claire, autant au Conseil municipal que dans les médias : on ne mettra pas fin à l’itinérance en construisant davantage de refuges. Depuis le début, je défends une approche axée sur le logement, la stabilité et de meilleurs résultats pour les personnes qui ont besoin de soutien ainsi que pour la communauté avoisinante. J’espère que cette nouvelle étape nous permettra d’avancer dans cette direction.
J’ai demandé une rencontre avec l’Armée du Salut en compagnie de @monafortier et de @lucillecollard , et je continuerai de tenir la communauté informée de l’évolution du dossier. Je vais continuer à défendre des solutions pour le chemin Montréal qui renforcent le quartier et qui accordent la priorité au logement permanent.
