Thanks to STO Chair Edmond Leclerc, Councillor for Buckingham, for making the trip to the Ottawa side to meet with Transit Commission Chair Glen Gower and me.
We spent more than an hour discussing return-to-office impacts, fares, Metrolinx, Exo, the Eastern Crossing, transit challenges on ...both sides of the river (there was no shortage of material!), the proposed tramway, and how we can better align transit service across the National Capital Region.
We all agreed on one thing: if we want a transit system that meets the needs of a growing capital region, we need stronger investment and better coordination from our provincial and federal partners.

Merci au président de la STO et conseiller de Buckingham, Edmond Leclerc, d'être venu du côté d'Ottawa pour rencontrer le président de la Commission du transport en commun, Glen Gower, et moi.
Pendant plus d'une heure, nous avons échangé sur les répercussions du retour au bureau, la tarification, Metrolinx, Exo, le lien interprovincial de l'Est, les défis du transport collectif de part et d'autre de la rivière, le projet de tramway et les façons de mieux arrimer nos réseaux.
Une chose est claire : la région de la capitale nationale a besoin d'investissements plus importants et d'une meilleure collaboration entre les gouvernements si nous voulons offrir un réseau de transport collectif à la hauteur des besoins de nos citoyens.
Merci pour cette excellente rencontre, Edmond. Au plaisir de poursuivre ce travail ensemble!

I will never, ever get tired of the milkshakes at Zak's Diner. We are so lucky to have their flagship location right here in the ByWard Market, although I have to admit I make my way to the Elgin Street location pretty often too! 🥤

Je suis accro aux milkshakes du Zak's Diner et je pense pas que ça va changer un jour! On est vraiment chanceux d'avoir leur resto original ici dans le marché By. Bon... j'avoue que je fais aussi souvent un arrêt à celui de la rue Elgin. 😄🥤
