This week at Queen\u2019s Park, I had the pleasure of recognizing two outstanding young francophone athletes from Ottawa, Shakespeare Louis and Ebe Diboula, following their selection in the Canadian Football League draft.
\n
\n Shakespeare was drafted by the Montreal Alouettes and Ebe by the BC ...<\/a>Lions, marking the beginning of an exciting professional journey for both athletes. Originally from Haiti and Congo, they reflect the strength, resilience, and diversity of Ontario\u2019s francophone communities.
\n
\n Their success is an inspiration to young people across Ottawa and beyond. Congratulations to Shakespeare and Ebe on this remarkable achievement!

\n Cette semaine \u00e0 Queen\u2019s Park, j\u2019ai eu le plaisir de souligner l\u2019exploit remarquable de deux jeunes athl\u00e8tes francophones d\u2019Ottawa, Shakespeare Louis et Ebe Diboula, \u00e0 la suite de leur s\u00e9lection au rep\u00eachage de la Ligue canadienne de football.

Happy to support the The HolliBell Foundation Spay and Neuter Pawlooza this week! I stopped by the Sandy Hill Arena to visit some of the cats coming out of surgery as they were being picked up. Some were still a little groggy, some were very ready to go home, and all were lucky to have caring ...<\/a>humans waiting for them.\ud83d\udc08\u200d\u2b1b

\n A big thank you as well to Ottawa Humane Society for hosting a food and treat giveaway on-site. No one should have to make the heartbreaking choice of giving up a beloved pet because vet care or pet food has become unaffordable.\u2764\ufe0f

\n We love our furry residents in Ward 12. If you or someone you know is having a hard time keeping up with the cost of caring for a pet, please reach out. There are many compassionate local organizations ready to help because asking for support is part of caring for the animals we love. \ud83d\udc3e

\n Heureuse d\u2019avoir pu appuyer la Pawlooza de st\u00e9rilisation de @hollibellfoundation cette semaine! Je suis pass\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019ar\u00e9na de Sandy Hill pour voir les petits chats qui sortaient de chirurgie au moment o\u00f9 ils retrouvaient leurs humains. Certains \u00e9taient encore un peu amorphes, d\u2019autres tr\u00e8s contents de rentrer \u00e0 la maison, mais tous avaient la chance d\u2019\u00eatre attendus avec amour.\ud83d\udc08\u200d\u2b1b

\n Un grand merci aussi \u00e0 @ottawahumane pour la distribution de nourriture et de g\u00e2teries sur place. Personne ne devrait avoir \u00e0 envisager de se d\u00e9partir de son animal de compagnie simplement parce que les soins v\u00e9t\u00e9rinaires ou la nourriture sont devenus trop co\u00fbteux.

\n On aime nos r\u00e9sidents \u00e0 quatre pattes dans le quartier 12. Si vous ou quelqu\u2019un de votre entourage avez de la difficult\u00e9 \u00e0 assumer les co\u00fbts li\u00e9s aux soins d\u2019un animal, n\u2019h\u00e9sitez pas \u00e0 tendre la main. Je suis profond\u00e9ment touch\u00e9e par la foule r\u00e9unie aujourd\u2019hui pour l\u2019inauguration du parc Mary Papatsie. Merci \u00e0 la famille de Mary d\u2019avoir parcouru de longues distances pour \u00eatre pr\u00e9sente \u00e0 cette comm\u00e9moration si importante. Merci \u00e9galement \u00e0 ses quatre gar\u00e7ons, qui ont particip\u00e9 ...<\/a>au d\u00e9voilement de l\u2019enseigne du parc avec \u00e9norm\u00e9ment de courage et de dignit\u00e9.\u2764\ufe0f

\n Un immense merci \u00e0 Tungasuvvingat Inuit pour l\u2019organisation de la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie et pour les d\u00e9corations si touchantes. Le travail que vous faites aujourd\u2019hui, c\u2019est moins de robes rouges demain. Merci aussi au ZAC Vanier BIA et \u00e0 Shirley Tessier pour l\u2019organisation du rassemblement qui a suivi au @vanierhub. Et un merci tout sp\u00e9cial aux r\u00e9sident.e.s de Vanier qui se sont d\u00e9plac\u00e9.e.s en grand nombre pour honorer la m\u00e9moire de Mary et accueillir sa famille et ses proches avec autant de chaleur et de solidarit\u00e9.\u2764\ufe0f\u200d\ud83e\ude79

\n Il est aussi important de rappeler que pour de nombreuses familles des Premi\u00e8res Nations, inuites et m\u00e9tisses, chaque jour est une Journ\u00e9e de la robe rouge. Chaque jour, elles portent le deuil de s\u0153urs, de m\u00e8res, d\u2019enfants et d\u2019\u00eatres chers disparus, ou dont la vie a \u00e9t\u00e9 bris\u00e9e par la violence.

\n J\u2019esp\u00e8re que le parc Mary Papatsie pourra devenir un lieu de recueillement, de gu\u00e9rison et de visibilit\u00e9 pour les survivant.e.s et les familles qui continuent de faire entendre leurs voix.
